The Rosset Nebula

فَإِذَا انشَقَّتِ السَّمَاءُ فَكَانَتْ وَرْ‌دَةً كَالدِّهَانِ

“When the Heaven shall be cleft asunder, and become rose red, like stained leather.”

(Qur’an 55:37)

They are red celestial bodies with a plicate appearance. One type of nebula is known as the “Rosette Nebula” because of its resemblance to a rose. The Rosette Nebula is also a vast cloud of gas and seems to have an area five times greater than that of the full moon. Its true diameter is estimated at 130 light years. This is a striking astronomical fact in the Quran as it mentions this nebula exactly by what it is discovered to look like now. Even it is named as “Rosette Nebula” by the scientists because of its rose like appearance.
