The Miracle of Moon

Allah says in the Qur’an:

And thus did We show Abraham the realm of the heavens and the earth that he would be among the certain [in faith] _6:75

This Ayah (verse) verifies of how important it is that a believer should reflect deeply upon the secrets of the universe as to increase and strengthen his faith in God the Almighty.

Here we have a picture of the moon which Allah has subjected to us. Scientists have stated that the moon is in the perfect distance it should be away from planet earth. If it were to be a bit further it would have shown as a dim lighted star, and if it were to be any closer it would have scared those on earth it due to its exceptionally large size (in relation to earth). Moreover, if it is to get any closer to earth it would initiate high tidal waves, due to its gravity, which would sink the earth’s surface.

What a blessing and mercy it is from Allah who:

Created everything and determined its exact measure. _ 25:2

And He subjected for you the sun and the moon, continuous [in orbit], and subjected for you the night and the day. And He gave you from all you asked of Him. And if you should count the favor of Allah, you could not enumerate them. Indeed, mankind is [generally] most unjust and ungrateful. _14:33-34

The moon is not more than one of Allah’s creations which is subjected to His will. Never think that the moon orbits due the laws of gravity or physics, all these laws are but nothing than the laws of Allah and it is He who controls them. Reflect upon Allah’s words:

Indeed, Allah holds the heavens and the earth, lest they cease. And if they should cease, no one could hold them [in place] after Him. Indeed, He is Forbearing and Forgiving _ 35:41
