Covid-19 and Jammu & Kashmir (Part 2)

In the name of Allah, the most Gracious and Genuine Merciful.

In the previous part, I’d been discussing some information regarding Covid-19 and now as change in the infectious curve of Covid-19, obviously in J&K, I think it’s better to discuss further.

Evidently, the main symptoms of Coronavirus are a fever, runny nose and a continuous dry cough. Besides it we found asymptomatic cases also that I was discussed earlier. Such cases show about 80% recovery rate and I personally suggests them Self-home quarantine.

Other Symptoms (Less common)

1. Aches and pains; as flu attacks the lungs, nose and throat, similarly the Coronavirus do the same. Certainly, the symptom of flu is muscle pain, and the flu has symptoms similar to the novel coronavirus, it is obvious besides fever Covid-19 patients also suffer from body aches.

2. Loss of taste and smell: A loss of smell and taste may be the early symptom of covid-19 infection, according to a latest report by a leading American professional association of medical specialists. Clearly, most of infectious diseases such as common cold (viral infectious of the nose and throat), Sinusitis (sinus infection) etc are responsible for smell loosening.

3. Conjunctivitis (Pink eye) Researchers identify pink eye as possible primary symptom of Covid-19. Fresh blooming news from Canadian University (University of Alberta) claims that an unusual pink eye case is now a reason to test for Covid-19. Even a recent case which was published in the Canadian Journal of ophthalmology had determined that conjunctivitis and Keratoconjunctivitis can also be primary symptom of Covid-19.

Pre-Symptomatic and Asymptomatic Covid-19 Patients

A pre-symptomatic case of Covid-19 is an individual infected with virus, who has not exhibited symptoms at the time of testing, but who later exhibits symptoms during the course of infection. An asymptomatic case of Covid-19 is an individual infected with virus, who does not manifest or exhibit any symptoms at the time of testing and neither displays any symptoms during the course of infection. How is Covid-19 transmitted? According to World Health Organization (WHO); People can catch COVID-19 from others who have the virus. The disease spreads primarily from person to person through small droplets from the nose or mouth, which are expelled when a person with COVID-19 coughs, sneezes, or speaks. These droplets are relatively heavy, do not travel far and quickly sink to the ground. People can catch COVID-19 if they breathe in these droplets from a person infected with the virus. This is why it is important to stay at least 1 meter) away from others. These droplets can land on objects and surfaces around the person such as tables, doorknobs and handrails. People can become infected by touching these objects or surfaces, then touching their eyes, nose or mouth. This is why it is important to wash your hands regularly with soap and water or clean with alcohol-based hand rub. According to the CDC (Centre for Disease Control and Prevention) The virus that causes COVID-19 is thought to spread mainly from person to person, mainly through respiratory droplets produced when an infected person coughs, sneezes, or talks. These droplets can land in the mouths or noses of people who are nearby or possibly be inhaled into the lungs. Spread is more likely when people are in close contact with one another (within about 6 feet). COVID-19 seems to be spreading easily and sustainably in the community (“community spread”) in many affected geographic areas. Community spread means people have been infected with the virus in an area, including some who are not sure how or where they became infected.

COVID-19 and Animals

Several dogs and cats (domestic cats and tigers) in contact with infected humans have tested positive for COVID-19. In addition, ferrets appear to be susceptible to the infection. In experimental conditions, both cats and ferrets were able to transmit infection to other animals of the same species. However, there is no evidence that these animals can transmit the disease to humans and spread COVID-19. COVID-19 is mainly spread through droplets produced when an infected person coughs, sneezes, or speaks. Now according to some reports of CDC that was updated on 22nd of June 2020, in which they categorically mentions the origin of Covid-19 from animals, likely from a bat. They also agree to receive some of the facts of exact source of latest evidence that shows none of any animals play a significant role in spreading the viruses that causes Covid-19.

To be continued In sha Allah..
